Shipyard Production

|

Published: Sep 19, 08:59 PM by: Robert ~ Voidhawk

When building items at a shipyard (which includes fleet AND defense items), the time spent is based on the ShipYard level. The higher the shipyard, the faster you can build.

Also, when upgrading a shipyard, you cannot build new fleets OR defenses. So keep this in mind when upgrading.

Furthermore, you cannot cancel anything being built by the ShipYard (which includes fleets and defenses). This is to prevent “saving exploits”, where you dump all your resources into ships to be created, then cancel them after the attacker is gone.

Robotic Factories do not affect your ship build times. Shipyards and Nanite Factories will decrease your build times.

Black Knight X is correct (see comment below). Robotic Factories do not affect the speed in which your ships are produced.

OGame Tips Strategy Guide

  1. time to build ships is also cut down by robotic factories
    — darkmagepaul(ogame name, uni5)    Jul 30, 07:18 PM    #
  2. are you sure about that? i have not noticed that at all.
    — Mike Nelson    Sep 19, 01:27 AM    #
  3. Yes, build time at the shipyard is effected by the level of Shipyard, the level of Robotic Factory and (not too sure) the Nanite Factory.
    ILikeLinux    Sep 24, 09:56 PM    #
  4. Thats false. Robotics factory only decreases building build times.
    — Black Knight X    Sep 27, 05:19 AM    #
  5. from what i know, robotic factories increase the time for an building
don’t know if it affects the ships
    — Wing    Oct 4, 12:27 PM    #
  6. Yes Black Knight X is right. Production time and Defense time are affected only by the shipyard level and the nanite factory level.

Nanites are really worth the price you pay for them. Each level cuts the time to produce and build defenses (among other things) by half. I currently have Nanite level 2 and Shipyard lvl 11 on one of my planets and I produce Battleships in 30 minutes, talk about rebuilding a fleet in no time :)
    Puckeye    Oct 4, 05:01 PM    #
  7. Nanites are definately worth it … i have lvl 4 at the moment with my lvl 12 shipyard and i can build battle ships in 6min and 55 seconds … now is that quick or what …

    — Sidewinder    Nov 19, 11:41 PM    #
  8. hey i just accedently built way to big of a fleet and i dont know how to stop the construction the 50 odd ships i just built can some one tell me how to stop the build of ships.

    — Matt    Feb 20, 05:16 PM    #
  9. ok but how do u build a shipyard?

    — gamerx9    Mar 12, 12:19 PM    #
  10. Im pretty sure u cannot stop building ships or defenses and its a wild guess but i would think it is because u can then use defense or ship building as a resource save when just about to be attacked. So thats why im pretty sure u cannot cancel.

    — ItaliaNHitmaN    Mar 12, 06:51 PM    #
  11. robo factories dont affect build time at all! even try it.

    — fearthereaper    Apr 28, 12:53 PM    #
  12. Hey, Gamerx9! You need a level two Robotics factory before you can construct a shipyard. Which doesn’t make much sense, seeing as the robotics factory doesn’t even affect ship building times.

Oh, and Matt, there is no such thing as too big of a fleet in OGame. This is an interstellar war game; I don’t think that a large fleet would hinder in any way.

    — LordOfChaos_Uber    May 28, 06:31 AM    #
  13. I think that the only point in the robotics factory is to make it more expensive to get the buildings like Nanite and Shipyard!

    — Jimbob    Jun 18, 02:54 PM    #
  14. What is neccesary to build battleships. I’ve got lvl 4 robotic factory and a lvl 6 warf

    — Razor    Jun 22, 08:02 AM    #
  15. “I don’t think that a large fleet would hinder in any way.”

Minus exorbitant deuterium costs, but that’s inconsequential unless you filled it up with Destroyers. :P

    — Arbron    Jul 1, 12:18 PM    #
  16. I have a lv. 12 nanite fac and level 14 shipyard, and until i lost i could build a destroyer in 10 minutes. but i got raided in my sleep(freaking cheapos) by 100 deathstars and 1000 bombers.

    — Zal    Jul 3, 03:49 PM    #
  17. @ Zal… How does being raided change your production time ? try and get a sense of what you are talking about…

And for the record a level 12 nanite sounds a bit like wishful thinking…

    — Tas Devil    Jul 5, 07:58 AM    #
  18. “I have a lv. 12 nanite fac and level 14 shipyard,and until i lost i could build a destroyer in 10 minutes.”

Level 12 Nanite Factory + level 14 Shipyard would allow you to build a Destroyer in 2 seconds, not 10 minutes.

To build a Destroyer in 10 minutes (and 18 seconds), you’d need:

    Nanite Factory level 4
    Shipyard level 15

    — Arbron    Jul 11, 03:16 AM    #
  19. I believe that you build your Robotic Factory to lvl 10 to get the Nanite Factory. The Nanite Factory (Level 1) halves the time for you to build another level of your next Robotic Factory. You Then build a few more Robotic Factory levels, which will decrease the amount of time it will take to increase your next Nanite Factory levels, etc.

    Perhaps….. IMHO

    — Desent    Jul 14, 12:57 PM    #
  20. “Nanites are definately worth it … i have lvl 4 at the moment with my lvl 12 shipyard and i can build battle ships in 6min and 55 seconds … now is that quick or what …”
it may be quick but without the right mine levels so u can get the res is a waste of time.

  21. “I have a lv. 12 nanite fac and level 14 shipyard, and until i lost i could build a destroyer in 10 minutes. but i got raided in my sleep(freaking cheapos) by 100 deathstars and 1000 bombers.”
if they attacked u in ur sleep with that kind of fleet, zal, then they wud b right next to u and hav like lvl 13 hyperspace engine…

unless ur a bear and hibernated

  22. “I believe that you build your Robotic Factory to lvl 10 to get the Nanite Factory.”

    Correct.

“The Nanite Factory (Level 1) halves the time for you to build another level of your next Robotic Factory.”

    Also correct.

“You Then build a few more Robotic Factory levels, which will decrease the amount of time it will take to increase your next Nanite Factory levels, etc.

    Perhaps….. IMHO”

I wouldn’t recommend bothering with the Robotics Factory at all after you get your Nanite Factory. In fact, I’d deconstruct the Robotics Factory (AFTER I’ve got my Nanite Factory to a desirable level) to free up some fields.

    — Arbron    Jul 17, 11:18 AM    #
  23. This factory produces units that are believed to be the ultimate evolution in robotics technology. Nanites are nanometer-sized robots capable of extraordinary performance through networking. Once researched, they increase productivity in almost every area, and because of this, the nanite factory halves the construction time for buildings, ships, and defensive structures with each level.

  24. ya well funny thing about rpg’s like this, they don’t tell you EVERYTHING.

    — Zal    Jul 25, 07:58 PM    #
  25. @Arbron
Right, though you should not deconstruct the Robotics factroy, as you will need it to upgrade to nanite factory level 2, then 3, then…

As for the fields, if you planned your development properly, by the time you build nanites you should have no planet under 200 fields (except the main one of course)

    — Etheric    Aug 28, 08:11 AM    #
  26. ”@Arbron
Right, though you should not deconstruct the Robotics factroy, as you will need it to upgrade to nanite factory level 2, then 3, then…”

    To quote myself:

“In fact, I’d deconstruct the Robotics Factory (AFTER I’ve got my Nanite Factory to a desirable level)”

However, I’ve actually changed my mind. Completely deconstructing the Robotics Factory is stupid.

Robotics Factory level 1 is like a Nanite Factory level 1 for buildings – it halves their construction time, as below.

Building time / (1 + level of RF)

Going to level 3 halves it again, and going to level 7 halves it again. Therefore, if you deconstruct the RF, don’t go below level 7.

  34. You need to build level 2 robotic factories . . .

Try looking in the technology tab

    — Dood    Feb 4, 03:58 PM    #
  35. Here’s a good way to get Nanite levels without getting crashed:
The optimum combination is to get the crystal mine or deuterium s. to a level at which the upgrading costs about half of the nanite upgrade. Build up a fleet of LC’s or SC’s. As big as you can. Every time before you log out, fleet save with all the resources you have (set the speed to 10% just to be sure). When you have enough, start an update on the Crystal mine or Deut. Synth. Continue fleetsaving with res until you have the rest of the res for nanite. Sometimes you’ll have to stop the upgrade so that you don’t spend the res and then fleetsave again. Keep it up until you can upgrade. Works perfectly!

    — BlueVD    Mar 2, 08:14 PM    #
  36. WADDUP??? ima back…
it only takes 14 nanites to get every ship(other than destroyer, battlecruiser, or deathstar) without any shipyard lvls. with 12 shipyard every ship takes 1 second.

    Imagine getting graviton with that?

    but nanites 14 is crazy

just thought i’d let you know :D

    — Thecat    Mar 22, 01:29 PM    #
  37. wot does graviton do i have heard that sometimes u lose your fleet wen attempting it is this tru?

    — bob    Apr 29, 09:53 PM    #
  38. OK. if anybody has read this far trying to find out what research and buildings you need to build something else, go to “technology” on ogame and it gives you all the prerequisites for ships, buildings, and research. so dont waste other peoples time asking questions about that on forums.

  45. Nanite lwl 12 is nearly imposible, even if u are nmbr 1 in universe. Someone will unite and attack you. { wel if top 50 players are in 1 alliance, and they got each other back, and they are ready to play Ogame for at least few years, maybe its possible}

  50. Hi nOObest of nOObs here,
I was advised not to build shipyard until i had at least level 10 mines and as much research done as economically possible to avoid being attacked early on and being farmed. Is there any truth to this ? (I was good i read the whole forum first !!)

    — Cookie    Feb 27, 02:05 PM    #

    moongu    Mar 4, 07:39 PM    #
  52. do people try to be stupid on this forum?

if you don’t have a shipyard, you can’t make defenses, so…...........

solar satellites, the closer to the sun you are, the more power they get.

    — ea er refta    Apr 13, 07:20 PM    #
  53. u all are fuck ards!!!!

    — BB Himself    May 16, 02:36 PM    #
  55. Shit, you noobies should join an alliance, they’ll help you with stupid things like “Why can’t I build solar sats..” anyway if you have the right tech and enough res go to the shipyard put the number to be built in the box next to the sat or LF and then press send.
